Chadwick is a mixed media artist living in the Hudson Valley. She has a master’s degree in art education from Manhattanville College and taught locally at the high school level for 10 years and as an adjunct at Dutchess Community College. Now retired from teaching, Chadwick spends her time creating in her home studio. She is currently a member of the Sherman Artists Association; Inspiration Art Group International; American Society of Botanical Artists; River Winds Gallery; Great Hollow Photographers Club; Arteast, and Friends of the Great Swamp (FrOGS). “Unrealistic Expectations” Abstract Paintings by Terry Pasquale
Opening Reception: Saturday May 4th: 5pm - 7pm
Terry Pasquale prefers to paint in the abstract and let the viewer dictate the personal significance of the work. “I’m fascinated by the different perspectives that people bring to my art. One person sees birds and fish in my paintings, while others see flowers, faces, and medical elements.” Says Pasquale. Using color, metallic paints, texture and mathematical principles like the Fibonacci sequence and the Golden Ratio, Pasquale brings together a composition. Each artwork is a balance between planning and accident. In addition to canvas, she paints on small leather items, jewelry and pillows.
Pasquale began her art education at the Hudson River Museum and continued it at Pace University, the American University of Rome, and the Westchester Art Workshop. She discovered paint pouring during the pandemic and embraced it. Most of Paquale’s current work is acrylic abstract with some element of accidental art. She has displayed her paintings with Yonkers Arts, Arts on the Lake, the Sherman Artists Association, the White Silo Winery, Gallery 25 and the Mamaroneck Artists Guild. She splits her time between Yonkers, New York and New Fairfield Connecticut with her husband Tom and cat Poe.
